My '08 intake tube does not look like the one in the picture. I couldn't get the 3" PVC to fit inside the hole in the fenderwell, nor could I get the coupling to fit over the intake tube. I assume you have to remove the piece that goes into the fenderwell, but I couldn't find a release tab and I didn't want to break it.

If you have pictures of this installation on an '08 5.4L, please post them or send instructions in terms that I can understand, which is real simple.

Do not do this mod on the 04 and up trucks. It will make the engine run lean.
On the 04 and up trucks you have to buy a tuner to run a CAI. Even if it dosent set a CEL the trucks are lean from the factory. They run 14.5 -15 to 1 already.

I have the Gotts intake Mod on my 2 o7s and it DID NOT lean it out. Matter of fact i lost mpgs doing so. It gives it alot more kick in the *** though. Of course my trucks a FFV so that may make a differnce. The computers learn as you go. In order to to the mod on my 5.4 I had to cut the intake tube since it does not come apart. In order to get the 3" pvc tube to fit into the fender well you must sand it down to size. Outer circumference of pvc is 3.5" while fender well hole is 3". If what others are telling everyone is true, then a CAI will not work on these trucks either. F A L S E

What about an Airaid MIT and a drop-in hi flow filter(K&N type) in the stock box? Will this cause a lean condition also? I really didn't want to buy a tuner at this time.
