Default Did the Gotts/DWV intake today.

Took me about an hour total. About 20 minutes of which was me cussing and pulling and kicking and throwing my stock intake across our shed. lol

Then I realized I was pulling on the wrong end of the flex hose. haha

Very very easy mod to do. I spend about $20 on it total. Then about $15 in gas.

Truck doesn't really feel more powerful just less lazy. I recommend it. If anything for the increased exhaust note. Although the flowmaster on my truck (previous owner installed) is on borrowed time. I'm just itching to order my custom magnaflow setup.

I'll post pics of it installed later if wanted. Doesn't look any different than anyone else' setup.

edit: The only thing I might do to improve the setup (if it can be improved) is remove the flex hose all together and run the pvc all the way to the stock intake.

How long did you need the intake to be?

I didn't use the black DWV. Lowes wouldn't cut any up and would only sell it to me in 10' sections. They offered to cut it in half for transport purposes or cut off the amount I needed and still charge me for a whole 10' stick. lol

I got a 3 foot PVC pipe for $3.88 I think. Painted it black. It fit great. I could probably get away with using my leftover bit and another coupler.

i think i used a 12inch tube, i had to buy a 2ft one frome home depot and just cut it in half, could of easily dont it with a bit shorter, my tube goes also right up againt the intake tube but still offers plenty of movement.

Did you disconnect the battery for a little bit after doing the mod? I did it on my 05 and didn't notice any difference at all. I also had a straight pipe and and Edge programmer....

I cut the rubber coupler before it reduced before install

^^ from the looks of that you didnt change much if you used that reducer.... you said you cut it correct? a 3 in will fit in the fender giving you the increase in air flow.

I cut it before it reduced. I figured the rubber would seal rather than jamming a pipe in there. I ran it that way for a good 15k and it didn't hurt or help anything. IMO this mod is a good excuse to get in the garage drink beer, and **** around.
