Default DEEP scratches

i was trying to unload a motorcycle from my truck to a buddy's truck today, and his tailgate slid under mine and left a few short but thick deep scratches down to the metal on the top left corner of my tailgate. where can i get some touch up paint to fill in the scratches? or is this a bad idea since i have a black truck?

Depends on the scratch, post up pics. There's a few websites such as paintscratch.com which will match your paint code. I used a local paint supply store when I got some to touch my roof up. Cost me about 35 bux for a rattle can of paint, clear, and some 400 grit sand paper. The match was dead on!

You may want to try just going by a local paint shop and ask them to touch it up (dealership would be more likely to do it). I paint at a dealership here locally and we do stuff like that for free all the time. As long as youre not expecting something extensive

i'll try to get some pics up tomorrow when its light out. its nothing major, just 4 scratches about 3-4 inches long, the 2 on the left aren't bad but the 2 on the right are deep and thick. i really just want them touched up so they won't show so easy or rust.

i was thinking if i got touch up paint i'd just fill them in, not repaint the whole area. there's a few touched up spots like that on the bottom of the tailgate from the previous owner.

no i wouldn't expect anything extensive, just something to fill them in and make them as least noticeable as possible

From what I understand, a lot of people like Automotivetouchup for touch up paint since they guarantee a color match

i went by the dealership today and they said they have a paint guy that does touch up work coming in tomorrow morning and he'll be able to fix the scratches.
