Default Dear Ford enginers

Well I just spent the last 5 hours removeing the plugs from my 2004 screw with 67k on it. I ran seafoam yesterday and got very little smoke at all and have run nothing but premium for the last year so I had high hopes. Well, 6 out of the 8 broke. I just wanted to say from the bottom of my heart, that who ever designed these plugs can kiss my sweaty sack. From me, and all the other die hard Ford fans on here that have felt the pain of the 5.4 plug change, kiss it. You damn rat bastards

Thanx!

I'm not feeling your pain, but I certainly feel for ya! My 04 Lariat went like a dream at 64k. Seems so damn odd how some of these go like clockwork and others get killed! Man, I hope you are at least glowing that it's done! Next change will be easy.

Something to look forward to! Sorry it was a rough one! Keep the faith. I still can't believe how much my 04 has me loving it.

Guessing you didn't follow the instructions below. Sorry you had such a hard time. For what its worth burning 93 is pointless in an engine not tuned for it. It's not cleaner nor does it clean out your engine, injectors or any of the other stuff people have come up with. In fact it can cause additional carbon build up due to an incomplete burn. Here's a great read on fuels thats easy to understand.

That was a good read. I didn't realize that you needed the higher temps with higher compression to burn the higher octane efficiently. But I wish they would have mentioned the ethanol content in gas today. Most gas stations have 10% ethanol in the 87 octane gas. I know you lose some power (probably not much with 10%) with ethanol. I wonder if that makes a difference? Because of the ethanol, I run premium in my boat, chevy 305, but I don't run the boat daily, and i'm trying to prevent phase separation.
