Default The dealership is changing my plugs out tomorrow.

I'm hoping for the best, my truck is a 2007 with 64k miles on it. At approximately 55k I ran Kreen engine cleaner for about 750 miles and every 3000 miles afterwards I ran Chevron Techron through the fuel system. I hope I get lucky with all of the plugs coming out with no breaks, one of the Techs is very experienced with changing the plugs on the 04-7 5.4L engines so I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best.

why waste money on plug change at such low miles. it doesn't matter what you do, sounds like you like wasting money on gimmicks. I had guys only use crappy gas rarely change oil and only one breaks off, next one is a meticulous as you and 6 of 8 break, I say run her til she misses then change em, the lise tool makes it easy. I charge $350 regardless of how many break. still only takes me an hour or 2 worst case. I would charge less but it looks fishy and customers don't trust me if it is too cheap. I let them tell me there quotes from other places and charge half. there is no gain in fuel mileage in changing plugs, all it does is jump the gap, no miss =no gain in changing plugs

Didn't Ford correct the design issue in '07 with new heads so that spark plug removal is a non-issue?

Also, what is with all this negativety and judgement anymore. Who cares what anyone else spends THEIR hard earned money on? If the OP wants to change spark plugs every 10K, then so be it. It's his money to 'waste'.
I like to buy guns- it's my money to waste. And some people like blow-up dolls-and so on...

The heads were changed in November of 2007 primarily affecting the 2008 model year trucks, my truck was built late in 2006 when the 2007 model year launched before the issue was corrected. In the latest TSB I'm pretty sure Ford recommends the factory plugs be changed out at 50k miles opposed to 100k to help avoid breaks.

Wow.....

With your bedside manner, I wouldn't let you touch my truck for free....

There was definitely a better way to come across then that.....

Some people just like the peace of mind knowing that the nightmare is over with.

In any event....make sure you have a change of clothes after they give you the bill

Mine were misfiring at 100,000 KM (60,000 miles) and Ford recommends that you change them at 60,000 miles now. So I'd say you are right on time for a change.
