Smile Daytime Running Lights?

Question...When I bought by truck one of the options on it was Daytime running lights..So my headlights are on 24/7 even when switched to off.I had planned on buying new headlights, if I do is there a way to make it so my head lights aren't always on?

I disabled mine by finding the fuse in the manual and just pulling it out. I did it about 3 years ago with no problems. It was the fuse thats in the fuse box under the hood.

if you get HID lights then you absolutely want to be sure to disable the DRL system. when the DRL are energized, it is actually a lower voltage than when you have your headlight switch turned on, and that can affect HID systems.

push down your e brake just enough to engage the electrical connection but not enough to tighten the e-brake it will turn your day time running lights.

Also, if you do get a set of hid's, then you should disable your perimeter lighting feature. Otherwise your lights will turn on and off too often and shorten the lifespan of the ballasts and/or lamps. If you just get standard lights you will be fine.

But like mentioned above, the e-brake trick would work too, or you could just bypass the switch so you don't have to worry about the lever.
