Default Custom sheetmetal work?

Has anybody done any custom bodywork to these trucks? I'm looking to do some sheetmetal work and am curious how the metal is. I know some trucks have nickel in the bodies and am curious if it does, does that affect welding?

Ive seen people make custom bumpers from sheet metal, but i dont think ive ever seen custom bedsides or fenders other than fiberglass.

The tailgate is high strength steel, as are the unisides. The rest is just sheetmetal. Doing some shaving?

nah not quite. The trucks a work truck right now so its got dents and scratches. When i tackle the bodywork, i'm thinking of leading a vent to a modified intake in the fender and widening the fender flares an inch or an inch and a half for tires.

Petersons Four Wheel-Offroad magazine is building there 2011 Ultimate Adventure truck out of a 2012 SuperCab. Not exactly what your doing but cutting it up pretty good for a brand new truck. They cut all the lower rocker panels out and boatsided it. Looks like the welded the thick boatside plate straight to the door side. Check out there website for better info. Pretty neat build.

Thats an awesome build. Thats the kind of stuff I love doing. They didnt seem to have any fear cutting and welding into those panels. Thanks for sharing.
