Default Cruise Control Not Working!

Hey all, new to this forum. I have a 2004 F150 Lariat. Recently bought this truck a year ago, and its been great. When I bought it, the previous owner said cruise control doesn't always work. Sometimes it will come on and work for a bit then shut off.
Since I've owned the truck, living in a rural area, I don't really use cruise all that often, but it never did work for me other then one time for a few moments. Now Im doing more highway driving and would like my cruise control back, and I cannot get it to work at all.

So, been searching all the forums and youtube for some help, cant seem to pinpoint my issue. Ive checked the following:
-All 3 taillights are working as they should and are not LED.
-Brake switch on pedal when key is on has power to the shift-interlock solenoid when the brake is applied, and no power then the brake is not applied.
-When I turn the key on, the shift-interlock solenoid releases my shifter, meaning I don't need to push the brake pedal to shift in and out of gear. When key is off, I cant get in or out of Park.
-And lastly, I can not get the cruise indicator to light up on the dash what so ever. The buttons on the wheel light up, just nothing on the dash. I've even tried holding the OFF button with park brake on and turning key, still no dash light.

Any ideas?

Maybe try cleaning the steering wheel controls? Maybe something is gummed up on the off switch.

I took the airbag out and pulled the controls off for cruise, and everything is clean like new. All the little green LEDs light up too.

Another note: I thought maybe the bulb in the dash for the cruise indicator might be blown, but when I tried to cruise it still doesn't work. Its strange how I can't even get an light to come on on the dash.
