Well hit the road last night at 2:00am and travelled about 3.5 hours and stopped at a rest stop to sleep for 45min. When we stopped I turned the truck off and all the lights and everything. When it was time to go again I tried to start the truck and got nothing. No cranking sound or anything. Just one single click. After about 5 min of trying it finally started. We drove about 40min and my sis needed to stop for. Washroom break. Once again when it came time to leave the truck would not start. Just a single click. Everything else worked (radio, lights etc) but it would just not start. Any ideas or suggestions?

 

Sounds to me like your starter may be going out.

How old is the battery?

 

Things to check;

1. Battery (and/or alternator), if OK,
2. Starter relay, if OK,
3. Starter

 

Starter relay good, got a new battery and now its starts but is kinda rough and ifey when it does start.

 

Any codes?
