I would love to do what you said. But its already a 16 hour job for a full engine swap in our trucks. The only thing that is stopping me is that there could be a whole bunch of problems arise, besides all the extra labor costs and added time onto the swap, that I dont want to deal with. It would be awesome for a project truck but as this is my daily driver I dont want to have to work on it like its a project truck. But still half of me will always be curious.

I've been doing some research over the past days and am still unsure of what I need to do. Jasper Engines quoted me 6k with a 1k core charge. They said they put a high pressure oil pump on it and have fixed all other occuing problems. Spartan Engines quoted me 3k and assured all problems were fixed. Both places were very vague on how all problems were fixed. The thing that scares me the most about remaned engines is that the problems will come back. Any advice?

Well technically the 5.0 should bolt in. But it would be a PITA to get running. Not to mention all the other modules will not like it either.

Lighting 2v will go in as well. But wouldn't really work without major mods. To prehistoric.

There's plenty of 3v's forsale. But they ain't cheap for sure not.

If you decide on a 5.4 then go for a late 08+. Gonna need the coils and pigtails.

If you stay on top of the oil changes I dont think you will have any problems. 120k on mine. MC oil and filter every 5k still runs like day 1

My opinion is to change the plugs maybe it will help with the stall because my '06 stalled out at stop lights then I changed the plugs and it runs like a top. Then just drive the truck till she dies and make a decision at that point. No since in spending 6k if you can get another year out of it. Just saying

Would be tough for me to spend 6k on a 10k truck. I would probably do the minimum to get it going and sell it off. Sounds crule, but the math doesnt add up.
