Unhappy cracked windshield

Wouldn't you know it had a nice rock shoot into the windshield on the highway today. Nice bullet mark and it made and 8 inch line. To top it off my inspection is up this month and new baby due any day now. Has anyone changed theirs recently and made some mistakes or found the smart/cost effective way to change it out?
No glass coverage and $1000 deductable.
Any and all advice appreciated.

Get a glass company to come out and install it for you, do not try and do it yourself. You can try and find a windshield from a salvage yard but you will still need to pay someone to put it in. Unfortunately its a necessary evil and it money that needs to be spent.

My dad had a windsheild put in his 05 F-350 and it cost about $225.00 Installed. Don't fret it, it will all come together. Congrates on the new one!

I'm pretty sure your insurance will cover front windshields at no cost to you. I had one replaced a few years ago and they told me its one of those things that's covered free.
