Definitly don't try that without trailer brakes it. Your truck brakes stpo that much weight in a short distance

While I agree with the trailer brakes part I am not so sure about the stock brakes... I think they are some of the best stock brakes I have had on a truck...

Don't get me wrong, I think they're nice for 1/2 ton, I'm just sayin' it's still a 1/2 ton setup. Not the big stoppies like a superduty. They're not built to be pulling the limits of their tow rating w/o trailer brakes and all kinds of things can end up going really wrong really quick with a heavy trailer.
