Default Could really use some help....

Im at my buddy's place right now putting on my roush exhaust I just got...its the offroad with dual rear exit. My truck is a 2004 f150 fx4 supercab with the 5.4 and 6.5 foot box. The problem is that as soon as we started to put the roush system on, it seemed as if the whole set up was about 5 or 6 inches too far forward on the truck. teh hangers didn't match up and the pipes were hitting were they weren't supposed to. The only piping we removed so far (in front of the muffler) was the one that is welded to the muffler, so its not like we removed more piping than needed. My solution was to put an extension of pipe right in front of the roush muffler, since it seems liek the whole set up is just a few inches too far towards the front. Everything would line up if we put an extension. We're gonna go have lunch for now, but I would appreciate any ideas, tips, or what not. Thanks.

BTW-This is the exhaust I bought, I'm 100% sure it is the correct one. (I know it says 05-08, but 04 new body style is the same as the rest)

the intermediate pipe was different on the '04's. that could be the problem.

Absolutely correct. My mistake on not realizing that...we were able to fix it cheaply and effectively so no harm done.

yeah it was designed for a regular cab. just need an extension. the flowmaster systems throw in an extra 18in long pipe just for that reason.
