Default cop noid light

2005 f150 5.4. low, runs rough with various miss fire codes and both bank lean codes. all codes are not consistant. new plugs, fuel filter and air filter. at one time one code was po0358 and p0351. installed a noid light and found it lit dimly. compared it to the injector and it was a lot brighter. checked the power to cop and it was good. checked the grounds to the ecm, as the ecm controls the ground and they were good. could it be an ecm?

Check your FPDM. Lean codes aren't consistent with a true misfire, and the random nature of the codes would indicate that to a point.

You changes plugs, did you change boots and springs for the COPs?

Boots can fix many issues with misfires, if the old boots are getting tired, they fail to insulate, allowing the spark energy to go directly to ground.

Make sure the plugs are torqued correctly.

Many, many things to check before even beginning to think about the ECU.

Default Don't compare oranges to apples

Test one injector to others , cops to each other . Clean all cop connections they corrode up .
Boots change them all , torque all plugs 25-28 foot pounds . Loose plugs common on these engines .
Lean both banks is a sign of a vacuum leak , you tube has homemade smoke machine . Air getting in after maf .

Potential causes of a P0358 code include: Short to voltage or ground on COP driver circuit Open on COP driver circuit Loose connection at coil or broken connector locks Bad Coil (COP) Faulty Powertrain Control Module

What causes the P0351 code?

Faulty spark plugs or plug wiring
Defective ignition coil
Failed or failing ECU
Open or short in the coil wiring harness
Electrical connection that is poor
