Default Cold air intakes

Could anyone recommend a good cold air intake for an '06 5.4L V8? Any good, throaty sounding intakes that do any good for the engine?

As for CAI's?? I second the AFE. I love mine, great growl and awesome performance. Other brands are Banks, Airaid, K&N, Volan, etc..

x2!

Just make sure you get the 3" tube unless you have custom tuning. The 3.5" tube requires custom tuning or the truck will run lean. Although I have custom tuning I went with the 3" tube so when I return the truck to stock I don't have to return the CAI back to stock. I'd highly recommend this CAI to anyone.

I think they are all the same...I've ran several manufacturers on different vehicles. It's all about who your fellow forum friends like the best. I chose the Air Force One 3" tube. Reportedly it will not throw any DTC's and works pretty much like stock and people leave it on when they go to the stealership.

It's a bit too bling for me but at least it is hidden by the hood.

I have had the best luck with K&N some people say that your paying for the name and that there all the same, but the K&N has been better that all the others I tryed and you really notice the difference when you add an exhaust system with it

K&N! I love the sound it make and it does it at the right time WOT and under load but any other time she is subdued which is most excellent and not annoying! And Dawg17 is right when with an exhaust(i went it borla) she really opens up! I went with the 57 series the 77 is a bit louder and less power!
