codes p2126 p2164
I'm getting codes p2126 and p2164 and getting wrench light. Have cleaned throttle body and changed the tps but still have these codes. People have told me the accelerator pedal sensor could be acting up and have had the pedal to the floor with no response (only happened once)- that was fixed by re-starting engine. My truck is a 2004 non-heritage 4.6 v8 but I can't even find a part that fits accelerator pedal sensor on any vendors website, does it even exist? Could it be the etc throttle body assembly? Where should I go from here.

Not familiar with a 4.7 V8 in 2004; This may be why you cannot find parts.

Ford made a 4.6 V8, and a 5.4 V8 gas engine in 2004, and later introduced the 4.2 V6 gas engine. Could yours be a diesel?

Here is the Throttle Position Sensor and Pedal/Sensor assembly. The TPS can be had MUCH cheaper at Amazon, Not sure about the Pedal Assy.

Well if you have any interest in ever getting an edge evolution or similar tuner, it will tell you what percentage your pedal is at, obviously if your on the floor and it's only registering 20% or maybe even 0% in your case, you know your problem. I also had a Bosch code scanner at one time that could also tell you this under live parameters. Tuner about 300 bucks, code reader was about 100 bucks but both are useful to have even after you figure out the issue. I would almost bet it is the whole throttle body itself. Mine went bad on my 2007 with the 4.6, swapped it out with a BBK and have never had another issue with it.
