Codes P0171-P0174
Codes -P0171,P0174 Lean bank 1&2. I have a 06 F150
with the 5.4L. I have the Volant CAI and FlowMaster 70 series muffler and getting those codes. Will the EDGE EVO in the Tow mode correct the problem? I had the Volant CAI without the 70 series muffler and no codes then added flowmaster 70muffler and codes were popping up P0171,P0174. Is this a common problem?

The codes you gave is a lean condition , and their are a few things that would cause them to pop up : (1) vacuum leak , example loose or worn out hoses, dirty or oily maf (common if have a filter that requires oiling), fuel pump not having enough pressure ( 28psi if not mistaking) or fuel injector itself. I would start with number one and work you way down. Some there are misdiagonosis of being a bad o2 sensor, not likely an o2 though
i had the same problem, mine was idling higher then the norm as well , 5.4 with airaid intake and full exhuast and throtlebody spacer , edge programmer ... diddnt have any problems for at least a year until i went to turn my truck on one day after work and it started but quickly died taking a huge air gulp at the same time. sounded like an air ride air bag releasingair , anyway i investigated all the info on the net and checked for all the vacume leaks and diddnt find any , i diddnt think it was the sensors because i only have 75000 miles on it figure they should last longer so took some carb cleaner and sprayed around the intake manifold gasket and i could hear a small difference when i did ,soi replaced the intake manifold gaskets and wuahhhllaaaahh its fixed new gaskets i got from ford for 70.00 for both
