2005 F150 XLT 5.4 3 V
I have code P2004 which is for "intake manifold runner control stuck open".
I have searched Hi and Low with NO results how how to do the Job. Have found a bunch of dead end threads from 2010 but that's it!
Son went off road ( a little muddy) and when he came back we had this code on our scanner. Did the seafoam induction to no avail........absolutely No smoke at all. ( we had done it a few weeks earlier with average smoke).
Had done the plugs and all the fluids prior to this event as well as K & N cold air intake as this truck is new to us........
any help would be appreciated!

 

I had same issue in late December. Code kept popping up whenever I was towing. Was getting a weird low end miss. Dealership changed it out but got the linkage backward which finally got fixed yesterday....anyway....Most likely the intake has to come off in order to install a new IMRC actuator or as some call it, CMCV (charge motion control valve). If you cange it out yourself you need to buy new clips that hold the rods onto the levers on the butterflies and the actuator. Should also get a set of intake gaskets. While in there clean everything well.
