Default Clunking when taking off

Need some help from read end gurus. I had my diff rebuilt by ford and got it checked by a few places. Replaced all the bushings of the drivetrain and I still get a clunk when I take off from a stop. I hear it and feel it. Any ideas?? I want it to stop

Have you checked your U-joints?

I'll get them checked. I'm not sure if they have been or not. I assumed they did, but probably they didn't take it apart

Lube up your spline joint on the drive shaft just rear of the center bearing. You have to pull off the rear shaft (literally 5 minutes) to expose the splines. Grease them up real good and put it back on. Mine did exactly the same thing and that cured it.

Yes try greasing the slip yoke on the drive-shaft. There is a TSB on this exact problem as stated before. I greased mine and it helped but didn't completely eliminate it due to the splines were worn down. So I had to get a new driveshaft and that 100% eliminated it.

I greased the slip joint and that has solved the problem. I have read that some have had the clunk return within a few months, only time will tell. The job was a bit of work if you do not have a lift and air tools. It was about an hour total. For those that will be doing it on the floor I found that if you loosen one bolt then roll the truck forward about 6 inches that will put the next bolt in position to loosen it. I wish I had tried this sooner since I had put up with that clunk for a few years.
