Default clunk and whirring

i have a 2006 xlt 2wd with the 4.6L engine. whenever i stop or start there is a series of clunks that occur. this doesnt feel normal. also when i am accelerating there is a whirring noise that gets louder and faster as the rpms raise up until it hits 4th gear. also whenever i shift my truck into reverse there is a few seconds before it engages and then once it engages it feels like it hits really hard. does anyone know what any of these problems could be?

Well for starters check your u joints out, if there are grease nipples on them then grease them, check out the idler pulleys for the serpentine belt see if they make noise when you spin them by hand with the belt off. As for the slow reverse check the grounds on the engine and firewall make sure they are tight and clean and check your battery connections make sure they are tight and clean,
