Well... I figure it's time for an update and some new pictures. I still haven't been able to find rims that I like/fit my truck how I want them too. So they still haven't been purchased. My front end has developed a howl that sounds like a screaming banshee. I'm pretty sure it's my passenger side CV joint. I have the whole assembly purchased, just need to install it. I removed my bug deflector. And lastly, the chrome surround on my grille is starting to bubble. Anyone have any experience with removing the chrome on it? I want to sandblast it off, then ptm it. and now. Pictures

Chilling in Jasper (bug deflector still on)

In order to remove the strut from the spring assembly a spring compressor is needed. Which is a very pricey tool, and I don't have one. A spacer simply gets added to the top of the spring assembly so the compressor is not required. I hope that makes sense. However I was just informed not long ago that spring compressors can be rented. So I'm going to look into that.
I work at NAPA and we rent them out its about $200 rental fee and then when you return it you get a full refund

^^ Ya, I found out afterwards that they can be rented out... But by then it was too late. ha ha. It's all said and done now though, so if I ever have to do it again I'll know and be able to save myself a few bucks.

Thanks man. I love the mountains. They're about a 3 hour drive from me, so next time I head down that way I'm going to be stopping for a photo shoot. Also, mods are somewhat on hold for right now as I recently bought a jeep for a new toy. It's getting my attention (aka money) now. ha ha.

But I figure I might as well have him do it since it's there. So the truck won't be parked. ha ha. It should be done by tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I can go pick it up then. I sure miss it, and I'm getting tired of driving around our Excursion. ha ha. The thing is a tank!

I usually get the work done at LBX. But after this last encounter I think anything but oil changes are going to be done elsewhere. What do you do there?
