click in right front under load
Hello all, I don't post much because I can find most answers in old threads, but I'm stumped on this one.
I have an 05 supercrew 4x4 with the 5.4. 2.5 inch level on the front and 315/70r17s on stock steel wheels. The right front corner clicks when the weight of the truck shifts onto it (when turning to the left or when braking above 15 mph or so). It sounds like an empty coke can caught in the spokes of a bike, and seems to click once with each revolution of the tire. I also have a steering vibration above 40 mph, but believe that may just be balance. The right front has gotten a new hub and half shaft in the last 6 months. I have crawled all around under that corner with the tire jacked up and can't hear anything. I took it to a local shop who told me I need brakes, but my brakes are still good there is no play in the calipers, I guess they are as stumped as me. I hope one of you is smarter than I am because it sounds ugly and I'm afraid of whatever it is failing at speed. Any ideas are appriciated. Thanks =)
