Probably not, since OBD is not meant for things like that, but Ford's own diagnostic computer might be able to pull it from the PCU.

if the motor truly has only 49K miles on it...it should have the original SP507 plugs in it... pull one and take a look.

My 06 is pristine with 160K miles. Not a dent, ding, and the interior is spotless. I bought it new with 6 miles. It's never been to a dealership or a shop. No emission checks. If you run a carfax it says sold 11/05 with 6 miles. End of history. It could easily pass for low mileage truck with a cluster swap.

Same with my '05. It has 130,000 mi. and would pass for 50,000 or less.

Snoop around the cluster area. Anything look out of place? Screw heads messed up, trim scratched, dust in the cluster, loose fitment, etc. All these are signs of a swap. Does the auto check show the same mileage as the Carfax?

Not sure that would show much. I swapped clusters (not to scam anyone, but because I broke the stepper motor on the tach) with a cluster that had the same exact mileage. I actually drove the truck until I reached where the new cluster was.

Anyway, by looking at my cluster, you'd never be able to tell it was replaced. It's a very easy job and there's nothing really to break or mess up.

I've talked to two different Ford dealers in the area. It is stored in both the pcm and the cluster. As long as the truck still has its original pcm, the Ford dealer should be able to give you the correct information/miles on the truck. I would explain the situation to them and they should be able to help you out. Also the only people who can rewrite the miles on the cluster is corporate Ford in Detroit. The dealer's do not have the correct software to be able to perform the process. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Isn't use of your departments databases for personal use a violation of your departmental policy? I know it would have been in mine and would have led to disciplinary action. I would edit that post immediately.

If all of us were worried about that, this site would die. Most of us are here while at work.
