Default Clean GPS mounting

Where does everyone mount their GPS? How do you route your power cord out of sight?
I thought about putting it on the left side of the steering wheel by the A pillar because it would be easy to hide the cord. But I want to save that space for a programmer. Right now I have my Garmin Nuvi 500 on a dash mount directly above the 4WD switch. It's nice to have it there so if I have a passenger they can type on it while I drive. But I hate the power cord hanging down and across when I plug it in.
Thinking about ways to hide the cord and maybe direct wire it to "key on" fused power. Any ideas or examples out there?

I thought about the factory NAV, but it wont let me create custom routes and waypoints like the Garmin. I use the gps in my jeep while offroading.

well I run a 60CSx on my dash just above the 4WD switch and the mount can hold either the GPS or my cell. and lucky for me both use the same charger- mini USB. I use the cigarette adapter charger but I hate it strung across the dash. I usually don't have either item plugged in because of it.
