Chrome Plating flaking off
I noticed that the chrome is flaking off of my factory rims. It's coming off if the inside of the rim as well as around the valve stems. They are the 18" ones that come with the chrome package. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any way to stop the flaking, or is too late?

Plating is actually metal coating if you will, cladding is basicly colored plastic. As plastic it cips and peels when it is subjected to certain conditions, dirt or rocky roads, snow, sand etc. Before you ask the ford site does state it is chrome cladding.
If it is a recent purchase, some people have had success returning the chrome wheels for other stock wheels, so thats an option.
Do a search on the site, there are several that go back and forth to the advantages of each.
