Default Chrome Clad Wheels

My 05 STX has chrome clad wheels and one of them has started to click\pop really loud (which is very embarrassing). Is there any fix for this, or is the wheel junk. Has anyone ever taken the cladding off and cleaned up the rim behind.

So the rim looks the same under chrome cladding? If so I will remove the cladding and paint the rim.

Good luck. Holland (who makes most domestic OEM wheels) uses a tremendous amount of glue on the chrome skin. Believe me. I ruined a wheel trying to tear the skin off.
