Choosing tires...
Alright I have my mind set one 2 tires mainly because of the deal. I would like some input on mud tires in the winter, I live in NE Ohio (Amish country) so we get a decent amount of snow and sometimes ice. I've had my eye on the Mastercraft courser MXT I think they look great and have some siping to help in rain and what not. I just don't want to buy these things and be screwed in winter. Then there's the AXT their all terrain tire it looks more aggressive in person. I'm pretty sure they would be alright in Ohio winters. So any input would be great. Any experience with either tire is welcome. Here's some pictures of both

The shop I used to work for sold Mastercraft. They are great tires for the price. The ATX look more aggressive than they used to. They used to look like a Michelin LTX as far as aggressiveness.
Go for the ATX.

Muds are not necessarily better in snow, especially packed snow. Siping helps a lot on packed snow and ice. Also, muds tend to be noisy. I have them on my Jeep CJ-7 mostly for the look, but chose a less aggressive model.
My F-150 needs tires soon, probably going with these... Hankook DynaPro ATm all terrain. Check out some of the reviews, people get great mileage out of them.

MXT tires are studable according to that picture. I like a MT in the winter, but I'll roll off in the ditches to get fresh snow pack vs muddy slush on the back roads. Highway, I'm not sure how they would do. They both look like a good tread pattern though.

I won't be studding the tires but around here they salt the living day light out of the roads so it turns to slush pretty quick, I ended up in a ditch last year because of the worthless BFG rugged trails luckily 4x4 got me out that and they got me stuck in wet grass, that was enough for me. I prefer the look of the mxt but they're $200 more than the axt which I'm not to worried about same with noise. Just don't want to put on roller skates for winter
