Default Cheap Grill guard

Truck gear direct, Any one dealt with them?

I bought a black bull bar from them on my 2005 f150. For about 140 at the time I think. I loved it. Put a couple lights on it and called it good.

I have recently been looking into getting a grille guard for my 2006 f150 lariat. They're about 250.

I know you get what you pay for with this stuff but I was very pleased with my bull bar, so just looking into getting input.

Also, just about hooking up a grill guard to a Lariat? I don't see where the tow hooks are suppose to go.

Any help/advise is appreciated.

I think you lose your tow hooks. If not the tow hooks on these trucks mount below the frame I think and that grille guard will have two stems that slide in the frame and bolt on and possibly some grille or bumper brackets for support.

The Lariat bumper is different than the XL. I'm not sure how it'd go. It's been col out and I've had the truck for a week, so I've not looked to hard.

Okay cool. That must be it then! Thanks. I didn't want to cut out my bumper!

Nope, should be fine!

But the top support might need to be screwed into the bumper, bolted.

Whichever.

That grill guard looks fairly identical to mine, If the mounting brackets are the same then you shouldn't have a problem mounting it. Granted I have an 08 XLT so the bumper could be different. My lower brackets bolted between the tow hooks and the frame, so they were still useable.

I think the XL and FX4 had different bumpers. 04-06 in general. Even then though it was just the brackets on the frame itself no?

I did murdered out on my 2008 f150 Lariat, on my 94 I'm going more for a classic OEM look so I went with all the chrome and stainless.

Definitely worth it!
