ill see how tomorrow goes with other shops and see if i can find a legitimate shop to do the work.
Thanks man and i havent gotten pulled over yet but im over the pa law if you go by the books lol

i went to a local place this morning that deals mostly with trucks and figured itd be a good place to start. mechanic said itd be an hours work and the cost of the pinion seal...so he said around 100 bucks!! compared to the 225 bucks the dealer said itd cost this is a great deal. hopefully everything works out and it goes well. getting it done thurs morning so ill know then.

The hardest part might be getting the nut to break loose. Will need leverage and a strong handle.

Sometimes the impact works, but at times there is just too much torque. Depends in the power of the driver, I suppose.

I did mine earlier this year. Took about 1.5 hours Just make sure you mark the Pinion nut and count the threads and you will have no trouble. Posted pics of steps to do here also.

My trusted mechanic says he'll do it for $25.00 labor plus parts on my '93. I will let him do that.
