Changing mirrors

The 2004 F150's did not come wired in the factory plug for turn signal operation in the outside mirrors. Yes, you can buy a set of later year mirrors and they will bolt up, but the pin out for the turn signal will not be on the wiring side to line up with the later mirrors that have the option.
And depending on the model, the truck may not have the wiring at all. If the truck did not come with power outside nirrors, the wiring most likely will not be there in the door for it.

My 04 Lariat has factory t/s & defrost. Power fold I think started in 08.

Hmmm. I was not aware that the turn signal option was available in the early '04 and '05 models. Good to know.
I'm aware though that a wiring change was done sometime between '06 and '07 that changed the ground pin.

this is the mirror only not the turn or spotlights i added. it wasnt to hard to take apart the turn signal had to be cut in then siliconed but beats paying what they want for mirrors like this, after i got them put back together i sprayed with bedliner and they turned out great ill post pic of them after paint in few days.
