Changed the vct solenoids

Default Changed the vct solenoids

Well I changed the solenoids both sides and its a little quiter. But know when it starts up cold I hear a more pronounce tick? Any ideas thanks oh and I switched to 5-30 conventional also.

My 05 had that tick when hot. Your tensioners seals are prolly shot ( common with our 5.4s ) and are leaking not holding the chain tight .. I replaced all timing componets. No more tick .. or chain noise at startup.

Ok I will probably end up doing that going to have to wait though from what I hear its a hefty bill.
