Change in the lift laws
#12
Cal. has the height law but you see trucks jacked so high it takes a step ladder to get in 'em. I've seen 110 lb. 5 ft.2 gals driving lifted Super Duty's so high that the rocker panel is at head height. It's absurd. The idea is so that if you were hit by one of these skyscrapers that you weren't eating his bumper in your normal height vehicle. There was a story in the paper a short while back about a Lifted Super Duty that ran over a kid in the crosswalk and didn't see him (couldn't see the road for 75 ft. in front of it). And the cops didn't even ticket him for height. Don't know why the laws are on the books, they never pay any attention to 'em.

I live in GA, and about a month ago we apparently had a change in our lift laws. Here's what it currently states:
"If you modify the OE bumper more than 2 inches above (or below, for that matter) the
manufacturer's spec, don't be surprised if you're cited."
Now does this mean Georgians are limited to 2 inches of body lift because it talks about moving the bumper, or does it have anything to do with suspension lift? I just really don't know and wanted to see if any of yall do.

Does the Law really state "don't be surprised if you're cited" Pull the real law and lets look it over.
