Default Change gears or not???

I've got an '06 4x4 SuperCrew 5.4L with the 6.5' bed. Right now I have a leveling kit on it but am thinking about removing it and adding probably a 4" lift kit plus bigger tires. Might go up to 305's or 315's. I'm running 285's now. My question is, do I need to change gears and if so, to what? Got 3:73 currently. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You do not HAVE to regear, but it sure does make a difference. I ran the stock 3.55's and 35's on my truck for 9 months. I had to really punch it going up hills and the truck seemed to be constantly gear searching. Upgraded to 4.56's and have not regretted it one bit. If you have 4WD you're looking at $1200-$1500 unless you can do the work yourself. Well worth it though in IMO.
