I am experienced in changing brakes pads out of many cars. However, i've never replaced pads and rotors on my truck. So my question is, what do I need to know (or is there already a good link to refer to) in order to replace my rotors and pads on the front of my 2005 f150 supercrew 5.4 liter (4x2)? I've heard once the rotors warp, which they have, then they're throw aways and not turnable due to a nylon luck nut that breaks when you remove the rotors. That is what has prompted me to ask this question. I'm really wanting to save the money i would spend at dealer or local shop... thx

IMO it's pointless to have rotors turned, every time i have they warped even faster..just buy new ones.

Thanks - I am planning to replace the rotors and pads - If I buy the pads and rotors from Autozone or somewhere comparable, Is there anything else I need to get? (I heard about some nylon lock nut and bearing, but I assume all of that will come with the rotors.) I'll call the astore and ask them. But anyone whose done this, please share the info...
