Default CD Player

I recently purchased a 2007 Ford F150 Super Crew. I love the truck but have one problem...When I get in and start the truck the CD player reads initializing and clicks several times acting like it is try to rotate CD's in the changer. Needless to say I am unable to eject or load and CD's into the changer. The radio and input jack work fine and I would be happy with the unit if the CD changer wouldn't click every time I started the truck since my iPod has replaced my CD's.

My question is there a way somehow fix the CD player so it doesn't click every time? Or it is likely that the unit is toast and I have to replace it?

ive read on here a few times of the 6disc going out, i would personally replace it with a nice aftermarket head unit, only other way to make it stop clicking would be go inside it and unplug the cd unit but i think it may be more trouble than it is worth.
