Default Catalytic Converter?

I got a 2004 Ford f150 with 139k on it. At this very point in time its in the shop having the cam phaser(s), lash adjusters (lifters), timing chain tensioners, and VCT Solenoid Sensors put in.
So when I get it back I was hoping to solve my next problem. I have an engine light that once clean will stay gone for about 40 miles, and then come back on. The code reads "Catalyst Defeincy bank 2 below threshold".
Prior to putting it in the shop for the repairs, I replaced myself the O2 Sensor behind the catalytic converter, and the light still came back on. The replacement was a Bosch sensor I believe. So I had the guy at Advanced Auto look up catalytic converters for my truck. The lowest priced one which was a universal one, was 400 bucks. The dealer was 1300, and if I get a discount on it, its still 1000 bucks. There is no way I will pay that for a catalytic converter. I've heard of some high flow ones, and what not, would this fix the engine light? What are my options besides bypassing the o2 sensor and removing the cat. I'd like to just replace both cats with some high flow ones that are 80 bucks instead of 1000.

You have a 4 cat setup, so you can delete the rear 2 cats and it eont affect the o2 sensors. Then get 2 magnaflow high flow cats from performancepeddler for $55 a piece. Then have a shop install the 2 high flows and new o2s. O2 sensors are VERY sensative and need to be professionally installed.

The truck needs new O2 sensors for new cats? Do the front O2 sensors need to be replaced as well as the back? I installed the O2 sensor myself when I thought that was the problem, and it was a piece of cake. Did it in about 20 minutes, worst part was getting the old one out, and it was hot cus it had been running so it was a PITA to get my wrench around the o2 sensor, it was one of those special tools designed to take them out.

I think the o2s have to be relocated if you get high flows, and im not sure if the threaded type will work.
