Default Cant win!

Last month I fixed the skip and the rear end. Now I can't tell if I have the skip back or the trans about to let loose. It just chugs shakes shimmies anything but get up and go. Would an engine light turn on for a bad trans? I don't think it's a skip because no engine light. Guess bulb could be blown

If one of the cops were bad would it smell like an electrical fire when it burns out?
