Default Can't shift from D to R

Good afternoon all, interesting issue here. 2007 XLT, 5.4L Triton 4x4, 182k miles. When shifting to Reverse from Drive, transmission sticks in neutral. Shifting up to Park then back down to Reverse resolves issue, all other shifts are fine. Trans fluid level is good and looks clean, transmission was serviced about 15k miles ago. Possible linkage issue? Not sure where to go with this since it work when shifting from park, only have issues shifting into reverse from drive. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Yeah I guess I would have a look at the arm on the side of the tranny, I think this year has a cable not a linkage but maybe something like a bushing is sloppy at the end of the cable.
there is also some adjustment of the neutral /selector switch on the side of the trans that might be worth looking into .
