Has anyone took out there 3.73 gears in there FX4 and put in 4.10 gears? What did it cost you? I'm thinking since mine is raised and I got 295 18's on it I need to swap gears. What you think?

Most people say it isn't worth it and that if your gonna do it you should do 4.56's or 4.88's do to the money involved and lack of performance gained going with the 4.10's, but I have to have thought that when the time comes to go to the 4.10's cause with a 35 inch tire that would be like having my stock 3.73 (which I can live with) thus not causing any problems with my trans/rearend cause of the bigger tires. I went with 33's at the moment until money allows for the rancho 4 inch lift, and new wheels and tires.

Yea bud going to 410s from 373s isnt really worth it. Gears done right arent cheap.

Its not used as a 4 wheeling off road vehicle. Its just street for most part. I just want to get back what it would have had before the lift and bigger tires. I like the lift and bigger tires. I have dual flowmaster 40's, K&N cartridge filter. I doubt the spark plugs have been changed but don't know as i had the truck for 3 weeks now.

How does 4.56 and 4.88 do on hwy? I drive a lot of hwy to next city over alot and little bit local driving and do not want to hurt top end speed much.

rule of thumb, if you dont add at least one full rotation of the drive shaft, its not worth doing. for example, you have 3.73, to be worth doing you need to go to at least 4.73. 4.73 doesnt exist so you round up to 4.88 dont fear the gear, i did 4.88's and i regret it, wish i would have done 5.13 but i wont switch now because its the small change isnt worth it.
