Default Can a blown cig lighter fuse cause CEL?

My CEL came on this morning. I havent had a cigarette lighter for as long as ive owned the truck. We couldnt connect to the OBDII port with plugging in. Looked at the fuse box and 110 looks broken (which would explain the inability to connect). Could this cause a CEL in its own? Or is there another issue going on? Replacing it this weekend when I get a little time then getting it read again. Truck runs fine...

PS sorry for the poor grammar on this post

Maybe? Would be ironic to throw a CEL for a bad fuse which controls the CEL port....quite the conundrum lol if I read that right

according to the fuse layout, 110is the cig lighter/diag port power. So it makes sense that I cant connect a scanner to it. Now that I think about it, I think that there is something else wrong. I'll just need to replace that fuse and get it re scanned so that I can actually see what the real code is. Hopefully it's a gas cap lol

Also, might want to investigate the root cause of the blown fuse

Could of just swapped a fuse while you were looking at 110.. and read the port

Finally had a chance to swap that 110 fuse. I went ahead and used the 115 spare, which luckily is also a 20a box fuse. I got the code read and it came back with p0420, Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). So the question is, how many cat's do we have? I've seen diagrams with 1 on each manifold, as well as 1 on the passenger side and 1 central after the "y" pipe. I can't really get under it to check as we just had rain and the dirt driveway is full of sloshy mud...Also, is it common for the cat to go bad on the 08's? I just ordered a bottle of CataClean to see if it clears the code up...no symptoms at all...

Your 2008 has 2 cat's, one on each side, before the "y" pipe. Usually that code means the cat is clogged/no good. I'd clear the code and use that CataClean, and see if it comes back, If it does you might have to replace it.

Yeah, that's the plan of action for now. I hope it clears up...Don't want to drop $330 on a cat
