Default camming the 4.6 modular?

is there a mid range lumpy cam for an 06 f150 4.6L V8? i want to sound cool when im idleing. lol and the extra few little ponies wont be too bad

If you tow anything with your 4.6 you'll have a lot more trouble with those cams. You will lose a lot of low end power on a motor that already lacks low end and likes to run on the top of the power band.

Not to mention its very expensive to buy cams for these motors. Unlike the $300-400 you might spend on a GM Cam in Block LS motor.

good point. hmm, i guess ill avoid camming it then.

...money might be better spent on a programmer, to better optimize the transmission shifting and fuel/air ratio.

A CMS/VT N/a stage 1 would work for you but you would need a programmer to adjust your shift points to make it work well in a truck as they were designed for a car . They have a noticeable idle and should give you a baseline hp increase of about 25hp
The specs are
540/550 lift, 224/226 .050" duration, 110 LSA
