Cam phasers

So the dealership told me they can only change my phasers if the hear them going off everytime I take it there fine but they go off like crazy sometimes

Is there specific way to make them go on?

If your phasers are bad, they will be bad all the time. It's not intermittent.

Do you think I can just be a lifter? Or the timing chain is loose which Os cussing the sporadic tick?

You can search around all over the forum and see different ticks.. rattles... pings ...knocks for the 5.4

...

lifters...manifolds...cam phasers...injectors... more than likely one of those
