Default Cam phaser help rough idle

Ok so for over two years my truck has had a rattle at start up but would always go away after a few seconds. I was told by my dealership I needed cam phasers to correct the issue but I never had the work done because they wanted $2800 to fix it.

Well this last week my check engine light came on and the truck started idling rough. I checked the codes and I had p0012, p0021,p00345, p00303. After some research I decided to change the vct selenoids which was surprisingly easy. Well I cleared the codes took the truck for a test drive and still had 3 codes p0012,p0021,p00303. At this point I changed the spark plug on cylinder 3 and this eliminated the p00303. The truck does seem to idle a little better but still is not right. I still have codes p0012,p0021.

At this point I'm thinking the timing chain jumped or something else is throwing the timing off. So aim going back to the dealership to see about getting the phasers done. My question is I want to make sure they change everything that needs to be fixed why they are in there. I only want to pay for this once. Here is what I have come up with so far.

Cam phasers
Lash adjusters
Timing chain tensioners
Cam followers?

What else should be repaired or should I have looked at? Thanks for any help in advance.btw truck is 2005 super crew lariat with 5.4 77k miles

I just had my cam phasers changed (well, the guy I bought it from paid for it in order for me to buy the truck). Cost him $800 for one side and $500 for the other. When I looked at the vehicle it didn't idle rough, but would make lots of ticking at idle. I was told once they went out the vehicle would run rough, so could be the phasers.

If one of your phasers went you would know it. I had one of mine go and when the truck would idle it would start knocking, rattling, pretty much sounded like it was running on half it's cylinders until you gave it some gas to clear it up. I locked out mine using the kit from Livernois, problem solved for the life of the truck. If you are going to have them changed, make sure they install a new timing chain and components why they are at it. Most phaser problems come from them not getting proper oil pressure. If the timing chain tensioner seals are bad this will decrease the oil flow to the phasers causing them to eventually fail. So, timing chains, tensioners and new slides, along with the phasers and new phaser bolts.
