I have a question about cam phasers. This does not pertain to the F150 but I figured someone on here would be able to help. I have a friend who has a 99 Taurus V-6. He was talking to me the other day about it making a ticking noise. I was wondering do these motors have the phasers like the 5.4 or does he have a bigger problem? Thanks for any help and sorry for it not being 150 related.

 

No, his Vulcan V6 is not a Variable Cam Timing motor, and therefore does not have phasers.
