This am went out started the truck to warm it up. Let it sit for for bout 10 min went to take my daughter to school and there were the letters CAL in place of the temp and compass. It has less than 14K miles and runs great after driving half a block it goes away and the temp and compass show up. No CEL lights. Only thing I can think of is calibrate?

Correct. You need to calibrate. Your owners manual will instruct you on how to do this (find a parking lot and drive in a clockwise circle I believe).
