The bilstein 5100, when ran in the "lifted" position will cause a stiff ride just like the pro-comps. I think your best bet is to flip the pro-comp collar to the stock setting and run the 2.5" leveling kit. Thats what i plan on trying as soon as deer season is over.

I've noticed some guys talking about setting their bilsteins to the max 2 1/4 level which confused me... This is probably a different part then the 04-05. But what is the difference and why?? I know when ordering a 4 or 6 inch lift kit the difference noted for the 04-05 models has to do with the brake lines in the rear, but nothing's different for the front.. I hope somebody can respond to what the difference is. Thanks for your input..

The only reason I decided to go with the 2.5" kit and not using the Billstien lift options is I read around about the ride stiffness (as you're compressing the coil more to gain that lift) AND you can only do 2" max with the billstiens I believe. I cannot confirm this though as I haven't tried without the HBS lift!

Overall I'm quite happy with the setup. I'm running only about 33" (Nitto Terra Grapplers) though with stock 18" FX4 rims.
Thanks for your response homer. I'm probably going to do as you did and run my spacer on top... I can see why the bilsteins would be so stiff with all the preload at the max setting... I have an auto spring 2.5" spacer I will be using in my bilstein install, then a 1.5" add a leaf will be going in after...... I'm glad to see your happy with the ride quality of your combination. I have not read many good (ride quality) reviews regarding the bilsteins being maxed out... You got any pics of your setup??

That's exactly what pro-comp told me, their not designed to run with two different lift systems. That's y I was gonna take mine apart and change the setting. And run no spacer.? Anyone else done this.?

I just ran a part number check on the 07 model and the part numbers are the same from 04 - 08.... As always, I'm left with more questions the answers...lol!

when i did my shocks my front stuts were worn out. when i had them apart i could compress them with my hands. i put it on the leveled setting and i got about 2 1/2'' up front with tires and about an 1'' in the rear with tires. i still have 1/4 in rake
