The first one is a complete ripoff. That is absolutely crazy. The second one is an okay price but not great.

Just as a point of reference I picked up a 2005 F150 2WD Supercab XLT for $8700 about 4 months ago. That is with the 5.4L engine and what the XLT package comes with. It had about 100k in miles. It was very clean and in very good shape.

I would consider buying private party for a 5 year old car. I never understood why people buy old cars from dealers. You have to pay retail, plus tax, and generally the vehicle will not have a warranty. I have found Craigslist to be a good place to get cars and there are a lot on the site. I think since you are looking for a basic 2005 truck you could get one for around $5500 private party.

Just really look and take your time. I found my truck after looking for about a month. I just looked on various sites every other day until I found a good deal. Also watch out for scammers. There are lot on Craigslist.

Here is a quick example I found. I do not know why the guy listed it as a Super cab. Guess he does not know what a Supercab is.

Good luck with the purchase.
