Default Bumper questions?

I have a 2006 F150 XL reg. cab and want to do some upgrades to it. I make the payments on it since my parents made the down payment as my high school graduation present. Eventually I want to add the XLT standards at least (power locks, windows, cloth seats etc.) but I want to start with the outside where there are some issues. Whoever owned the truck before me hit something with the front bumper and caused some damage to it and it needs to be replaced (the brackets too) but on top of that they went and painted it with some sort of bumper coating (I found the spray bottle under the seat) and they did an awful job at it. There are runs in it and some overspray (thankfully its not very visible and is behind the bumper but still...) Anyway I want to upgrade to some chrome bumpers or at least bumpers that aren’t damaged and are painted correctly. I called the local junkyard and they want over 300 bucks for a front bumper alone. I want to redo the bumpers and the grill and the piece between the bumper and the grill (I don’t know the specific name of it) to match the color of my truck. Does anyone have any suggestions on the most cost efficient way to swap out my bumpers and upgrade the looks of the front of my truck? I promise in the future to not make such long posts haha. Thanks for any advise. I really love my truck. Nothing beats driving a FORD F-150.
