Default Built a hidden winch mount

This is a hidden winch mount I designed and fabricated for my 07 f150 with a 12000 lb badlands mounted to it. I havent seen any hidden winch mounts for the 04-08. I wanted something sleek, stylish and rugged without adding the weight of a full winch bumper. The factory tow hooks are still functional. Next up is installing my 6" lift, 35's and arb locker.

Did you fill in those spot welds? What thickness steel did you go for? It doesn't look super strong to me. But as a do it yourselfer, I generally always over build things.

Did you powder coat it? I'd like to see some more picture of it installed if you can.

I thought the same on strength. Looks like flat bar where angle would have more strength.

Those tack welds were temporary in the first pictures. I went back and welded everything up after designing was finished. It's made from 1/4". I really don't have any measurements just winged it as I went along. I was going to use the existing hole in the bumper to run the line through, but the winch can't be mounted that high with my trans cooler in the way. So I made a slot in the bumper where the license plate holder was to run the fair lead mount through and the winch line. The pics dont show the underside of the mount, but the way I gusseted the winch plate I doubt it will ever bend. Truck will bend first. Lol

Thanks everyone
