Question Brushed Metal - The ANTI-Chrome!

I have been doing a lot of looking and thinking and now I am convinced that I want to spruce up my exterior with brushed aluminum-type finishes versus the chrome that seems to be everywhere now. While I have searched and searched, the only items that seems to exist are for the interior. I would love to have a brushed-metal finish on the:
  • Grille (Roush style)
  • Door pulls (with PTM surrounds)
  • Side step bars
  • Triton, F-150 emblems
  • Tailgate handle
I think it would brighten up my all-black FX4 and be unique and classy at the same time. Anyone know of any place that I can get these items? Or how about a nice vinyl wrap...would it hold and not fade? Or could a paint job with rattlecans suffice?

No one...?

I figure that buying those chrome plastic surrounds and door pulls would be cheaper than buying PTM handles and surrounds. But I wonder how thick those are.

This company layers on an etched-metal material in the molding process. But I wonder what it would cost for them to layer it on existing parts and then clear-coat it? Krylon has a plastic paint that may work, but I am not sure its metallic enough. And I have only painted plastic once and I cant remember how it turned out.

Anyone with some pointers, leads, advice, info, etc?

As much as I would LOVE to do that, I would need pockets as deep or deeper than yours.

Im with you in that I hate chrome, but we part ways when it comes to putting brushed 'metal' accents everywhere. Unless a reputable company had designed and crafted handles, etc out of metal with a brushed finish, I cant see it looking that good.

Ya agreed, I do not like chrome at all, and would only do brushed finish if it was more solid metal no look alike, for instance what they do to refrigerators, just a paint, I would want all the parts machined for me. Thats why my truck is jsut red and black.

It's too cost prohibitive to do the entire grille, handle, etc out of brushed metal. An overlay would bea great compromise for me.
